We have a long standing association with a local Watford charity called Eagles Wings. Eagles Wings was founded as a humanitarian aid charity in 2004 to alleviate suffering and poverty by providing basic food, shelter, clean water, clothing, healthcare and education to those living in desperate circumstances. Since spring 2017 we have been sponsoring a little girl called Comfort. Comfort and her family and friends are in the first slideshow below. Prior to sponsoring Comfort, we sponsored Mary, from a village called Elburgon in Kenya, by providing funds to support her through school and by sending her Christmas presents. Mary has now left school and no longer needs our support. The second slideshow shows Mary and her friends at Christmas in 2012.
November 2022 Update:
Bruce Oliver, representative for the charity Eagles’ Wings was recently able to visit Knutsford for a special assembly to update us on Comfort and the work of the charity.
Comfort has finally been able to return to school after two years of missed schooling due to the Covid pandemic and is doing well. After Christmas, our school council will be organising another event to raise sponsorship for Comfort.
