At Knutsford Primary Academy, we aim to prepare our children with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to thrive in an ever-changing digital world. Our computing curriculum focuses on the progression and development of skills in digital literacy, computer science and information technology to ensure our children become competent in safely using, as well as understanding, technology.
The children explore ideas in unplugged contexts using and learning key concepts, terms and vocabulary before moving on to either structured or more exploratory tasks using a range of software, digital tools and devices.
E-safety is of paramount importance and it is taught explicitly and discreetly to ensure the safety and well-being of our children. Further details can be found on our e-safety page.
We believe that a high-quality computing curriculum enables children to use technology to develop creativity, resilience, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. It enables them to be digitally literate as well as responsible digital citizens.
